Dear Friends & Family,
As a retired athlete and dancer, I have always been very aware that "you are
what you eat." In the last few years there has arisen a new awareness of and interest in food as a part of staying healthy overall. What used to be
considered "Gourmet" food has become everyday fare.
The aim of staying healthy and eating well are no longer considered
contradictory. One no longer feels as though they can only stay healthy on a diet of bean sprouts, granola and mung beans. There are many recipes out
there that can not only meet recommended guidelines for good health, but may add years to your life.
Here in "Granny's Cafe" I will pass on to you many different types of
recipes. Many may be, enduring older recipes, or newer versions of old-time favorites, while many will be
completely new, and more modern recipes. Many of these recipes will steer clear of
excess fat, sugar, and sodium. These are the ingredients that have been playing havoc with our health now for most of our lives.
Whichever recipes you decide to use, happy cooking to you.
Be sure to check with your physician if you are on a restricted diet before
attempting to change your diet.
You will find, whether you are cooking for a family or just for yourself,
that some of these recipes will become staples in your kitchen. Now you have
the opportunity to combine great taste with good nutrition.
Here's to your health.
Good eating everyone!
